School Daze is a cabled pom pom hat with some old school charm, hence the name. It’s not made in the conventional way of making a hat. You actually start with the cabeling and add the pom pom and ribbing band later. This is probably because it started its life as a cabled cowl…but I thought it was kinda boring so bound it off and made a hat instead! Much more fun and super cute to boot! |

Sizes: 
To fit one size: Adult
Materials:
1 ball (50g / 112m / 123yrds) King Cole Merino Blend DK/8ply(shown in Kingfisher).
100% Wool
Approximately 50 – 100 yards of contrasting DK/8ply yarn for brim rib and pom pom.
1 Size 4.5mm circular needle 
1 cable needle
1 stitch marker
1 yarn needle
24 stitches / 30 Rows = 4” in cable pattern.
Skills required:
Basic cables
Decreasing in knit and purl
Knitting in the round
